At Talking2Lips, we are trained and certified to evaluate and provide therapy to address Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMD's) for children.

OMD's are "disorders of the muscles and functions of the face and mouth which may affect breastfeeding, facial skeletal growth development, chewing, swallowing, speech, alignment of teeth, temporomandibular joint movement, oral hygiene, stability of orthodontic treatment, facial esthetics, and more." (Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, 2024).

Pediatric Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy
Our program is rooted in the Simon Says program, which provides a comprehensive foundation for muscle retraining. We focus on improving facial and tongue resting posture, adjusting the swallow sequence, promoting nasal breathing, and correcting associated speech sound errors. Utilizing targeted, individual-specific exercises, our program engages key muscles involved in tongue thrust or other oral issues, while ensuring that speech errors are addressed in alignment with underlying functional challenges.

Our therapy is proven to "eliminate tongue thrusts, correct speech articulation errors, improve overall health, and increase the self-confidence of our patients" (Simon Says). In combination with our training and certifications, we prioritize our holistic, family-centered approach to adequately address the needs of each child.
